The Light

The shafts of golden light streamed through the trees; revealing the old farm implements. I was awestruck by the profound natural beauty in the moment and reminded of the scripture that said: 'And God said, "Let there be light: and there was light." -- Genesis 1:3' A temporal quietness prevailed; it seemed that even the birds were reverent.

Although it was an inspiring scene, I knew it would only last for a brief time. Soon the rising sun would illuminate even the darkest shadows. It would look entirely different for awhile, only to return in natural cycles.

Then, I was reminded of yet another scripture. 'Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, "I am the Light Of The World: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the Light Of Life." -- John 8:12

Unlike the varying light upon the farm devices, when the Light Of The World shines into our lives, everything changes forever. When the dark corners of our lives are elucidated, we ask for and receive the gift of forgiveness. The shadows are eliminated and forgotten.

"Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.".
James 1:17
